The Next regularly scheduled Town Board Meeting for the Town of Stark will be held on Tuesday April 8, 2025, weather permitting. The meeting location is the Town of Stark Courthouse on Elwood Road in Starkville. The official address is Town of Stark, 703 Elwood Road, Fort Plain, NY, 13339. The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM.
New Town Clerk And Tax Collector Business Location
Town Clerk and Tax Collector Eleanor Smith announces the Town Clerk and Tax Collector business will all be conducted at her residence at 793 Wiltse Hill Road, Jordanville, NY 13361. The phone number to call for an appointment is 315-985-0405. The change will occur on December 20, 2024. Until then, the Clerk will be in Starkville at the courthouse building during the posted business hours. This will provide the public with more hours of availability for Town Clerk services.
Notice of Public Hearing Regarding Extending Moratorium
The Town Board held a public hearing on Tuesday January 14, 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Town of Stark Courthouse, 703 Elwood Road, Fort Plain, NY 13339 in Starkville at the regularly scheduled meeting of the Town of Stark for January. The results of the public hearing allows for the extension of the moratorium titled Local Law # 1of 2024, an additional three (3) months, which was provided for in the original adoption of Local Law # 1-2024 for the moratorium.
A Request From The Van Hornesville Community Corp.
The Van Hornesville Community Corp. is surveying the Van Hornesvile community and the Town of Stark with the intention of helping us think about the future of our area and working to understand how the VHCC might contribue to it. We are hoping each of the Town Council members would fill out the survey, as well as share it with Town employees and others in the community in the Town of Stark. The survey shouldn't take long (10-15 minutes) and it will be a big help to the VHCC as we invest our time and energy to improve this place we all care about.
